Dedicated to learning and education...

Although Little Brown Fiberworks does have an online shop featuring finished projects and yarns, the primary focus of this site is learning and education. The fiber arts have been with us since the beginning of time, and studies have proven that practicing fiber craft has a significant improvement on mental health. We feel it is important to "spread the word" as far and as wide as we can through three key topics.

Plant & Animal Fiber Knowledge

Little Brown Mouse Fiberworks is deep into a personal learning mission to master the yarn creation process. It is an ongoing goal to learn more about the fibers available to us to work with, process them into a useable format, spin them using historic techniques, and color them using natural dyes.

Fiber Bending Techniques

"Fiber Bending" is our term for all the methods and techniques used to turn fiber into everything from yarn to intentional art pieces on through to useable objects such as apparel and household goods.

Sustainability & History

Believing we're on the horizon of a cultrual shift back towards quality hand crafted goods using natural and sustainable fibers over fast fashion and plastics the history of fiber art and fibers is key to makers and artists mastering their craft. Sometimes we need to look at where we came from before moving forward.
